DAY 1 > Saturday, 23rd of March / 9:00 to 18:00
The first day is going to be all about planning and creating your story. Train to Create has come up with amazing designers as well as an exclusive location perfect to give you all the tools necessary to help you bring your portfolio to the next level.
Von Wong will run through the planning steps: from communication, to visualising, to problem solving so that you can apply these skills to create the image in your mind. He will provide a live demonstration of how he handles the various lighting conditions and then invite you to create your own images in teams of three. The focus of images on Day 1 will be to use creative lighting to tell a story in your photographs. Select your own wardrobe and direct the talent. An entire team including Von Wong will be at your disposal. After the day passes, the entire group heads off for an informal supper where feedback is exchanged. Ideas will be tossed around to prep for the next day of shooting.
DAY 2 > Sunday, 24th of March / 9:00 to 18:00
It is now your turn to create a shot with all the resources available to you. The morning will begin with Von Wong demonstrating how he builds his crazy worlds with a focus on advanced composites. It is then your turn to take all that you have learned over the last day and half to create a world of your own.
After a quick lunch break, it is time to put the cameras away and put the images into Photoshop®. You will bring your laptops to the shoot and Von Wong will walk you through his editing workflow going through the tools that he uses to retouch an image from start to finish.
Come on board on the Train to Create Meetup and meet Canadian photographer Benjamin Von Wong and Dutch digital artist Dracorubio. Chat with people just like you, meet local creatives, hear from experienced ones and get advice from others who have already made it. Feel free to share your ideas and experiences about topics like Photography, Video, Make-Up, Styling, Design, Mood and Concept. No matter your age, background, current job or level of skill (amateur or professional), we encourage and invite everyone to participate in an open creative exploration.
