Photography Series 2013

The Tom Hoops Photography Series is a full two and a half day (Seminar/2 day Workshop/Meet up) immersion into the art of photography, from the initial concept to post-processing. In a unique filming location used widely in fashion, film and television work, participants will have the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with a team of high-profile professionals creating high-standard shots which will enhance their portfolio. From idea building all the way to the final stages of shooting and post production Tom Hoops and Train to Create will be there guiding you. You don’t have to worry about styling, location, or models. You will have everything you need for a professional and fully equipped photo shooting experience.

Sponsored by Wacom and in partnership with London College of Fashion, Train to Create presents Tom Hoops Photography / The Seminar. Gary Carr, a successful actor that debuted in the well-known British series Downtown Abbey, will host alongside Train To create these three hours worth of creativity in photography. The seminar, supported by Profoto and Metro Imaging is a private and dedicated event for all those attending the Tom Hoops Photography Series, but also an inspirational ‘must-attend’ for young student photographers from London College of Fashion. Tom Hoops, the leading speaker, will be accompanied by Steve Macleod, the Director of Metro Imaging, Raoul Keil, the Editor in Chief and Creative Director for Schön! Magazine and also Eloise Booker from First Model Management.The seminar will be revealing valuable insight on how to challenge yourself into taking your professional photography career to a higher level. *Please note that this Seminar is FREE to attend if you have booked and paid for the Master Class.

DAY 1 >

Train to Create and Tom Hoops are bringing to you a unique opportunity to work in a professional environment and to bring your portfolio to the next level.  Whether looking to build on your portfolio or to explore working with people in your photography, this is a hands on full day of shooting. After initial introductions, coffee and cake, Tom and “Train to Create” will guide you through the location before you meet and shoot the models. Tom will be on hand to guide, give you ideas and push you. With a strong list of designers, make-up artists, hair stylists and models, Tom will run through the planning steps: from subject communication, to visualising, to problem solving and he will provide a live shoot demonstration . The focus of images on Day 1 will be to use creative lighting , unconventional subjects and a magnetic dark mood to experiment  with photographic style. Day 1 is a hands on non structured creative environment designed to push you to shoot in ways you may not have considered before.

DAY 2 >
Workshop date: 27th October 2013 / from 9.00 to 18.00
Workshop location: Holiday Inn,  261 – 267 Commercial Road  E1 2BT, London

In the Day2 the Masterclass will focus on photo editing, retouching and portfolio reviewing. Tom will share his workflow focusing on the techniques and the basis for his aesthetic decisions on how to retouch without being digitally obvious. The attendees will have the chance to work on their own own images from Day1 and have them reviewed by Tom and Train To Create Team. You will also edit one of Tom’s images as he goes through his creative editing process. You will walk away with the knowledge needed to competently evaluate an image, envision the result in the mind’s eye, plan the process and execute the work needed to achieve the vision.

Train to Create is celebrating the end of Tom Hoops Photography Series with a FREE Meet up, an invitation to all London creatives! Train to create Meet up is the right place to share your ideas and experiences about topics like Photography, Video, Make-Up, Styling, Design, Mood and Concept. No matter your age, background, current job or level of skill (amateur or professional), we encourage and invite everyone to participate in an open creative exploration.

Does the cost of the Workshop includes flights and/or accommodation?


No, you will have to do your travel arrangements and purchase your accommodation separately.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

Refund Policy:

1. There is a 14-day cooling off period following the purchase of the ticket where you will receive a full refund minus a 5% administration fee.

2. 14-day after the purchase of the workshop you are entitled a 50% refund.

3. Cancelations made 14 days prior to the event’s date are non refundable.

4. You can transfer your ticket to third parties at any time by informing us in writing at tickets@traintocreate.com

5. No refund will be made for non-attendance of the event

Cancellation Policy:

Train to Create reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or change the location and the time of an event due to unforeseen circumstances. If Train to Create cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund.
