THE TECHNICAL SEMINAR
This will be an 8-hours technical course where Andrzej Dragan will be demonstrating his works focusing mostly on the technical aspects of it. The attendees will be taught step by step how to create an image with the “Dragan effect” themselves.
There will be an open Q&A sessions and a discussion right after the technical part of the workshop. During that time Andrzej will take time to answer any questions left!
The polish Andrzej Dragan , born in 1978 and PhD in quantum physics, is involved in photography since 2003.He says himself that he actually dislikes photographing, which justifies that his photo shootings never take long. What he focuses on is the digital post-process, which can take him up to a month per photo. That’s where he takes his time to determine that specific something of the image that he wants to underline.By using a digital post processing method, also known as the “Dragan Effect”, that resembles painting, he turns the images into one of his impressive and unique portraits.
As he attaches great importance to quality, not quantity, he just produced around 100 portraits until today. Nevertheless, his art was rewarded several times ( Photographer of the year 2007 by “Digital Camera Magazine”) and published in several magazines and books.
He worked commercially for Playstation, Xbox, Converse, Energizer, Police, Amnesty International and many other advertising agencies including DDB, Euro RSCG, Grey, JWT, McCann-Erickson, Ogilvy, Publicis, Scholz & Friends, and TBWA.
Awards: KTR gold and silver medals (2006), two silvers and a bronze (2007), two golds and two silvers and two bronzes (2008), silver medal in the Corbis Photography Awards (2007), gold medal in the Golden Drum Festival (2007), bronze medal in the Epica Awards (2007), silver medal in the International Photography Masters Cup London (2010), Golden KTR Sword for the best short film work (2014).
