Shooting for Editorial

Train to Create and Wacom are proud to announce this exclusive One-day workshop in which you will have the chance to work alongside professional photographer Laura Cammarata as she leads participants through a detailed Masterclass on How to Shoot for Fashion Editorial. The Workshop is a full day immersion into the art of Fashion photography, running from A to Z through what makes a great Fashion Editorial. You will have the chance to shoot in studio with Laura Cammarata and the Train to Create team and will be guided through techniques designed for getting the most out of your shots. Laura will also look into individual portfolios and give specific advice at the end of the day.

Here you will be given an exclusive opportunity to learn from the artist on set. Shooting in a professional studio, you will have the chance to work alongside Laura Cammarata and of team of models and stylists to create your own shots. Train to Create Team will be on hand to give you ideas on how to shoot in ways you may not have considered before. The day is designed to be hands on to truly bring out your most creative shots. From idea building all the way to the final stages of shooting Laura Cammarata and the Train to Create team will be there guiding you.
You don’t have to worry about styling, location, models, or even lunch, as everything will be provided. You will have all the tools you need for a professional and fully equipped editorial shooting experience.

  • What an editorial is and what its rules are.
  • How to create concepts and stories for your images: mood boards and references.
  • Shooting in studio: Laura’s most used lighting techniques.
  • How to work in a team: your collaborative relationship with models, makeup artists, hairstylists & stylists.
  • How to edit your story in post-production: the importance of selection.
  • How to create your own distinctive photographic style.
  • Insight on the fashion industry: how to approach model agencies and magazines, how to build your team, personal work VS commercial work, magazine submission VS commission etc.
  • Overview on Laura’s post-production workflow.

What you will gain:

  • You will gain invaluable insight and competent training from a professional photographer currently working in the industry.
  • Working with agency models and a team of stylists, make-up artists and hair stylists from the fashion industry.
  • Being the workshop exclusively for a maximum of 10 people, you will be coached by the artist and Train to Create on a personal basis and you will be given the opportunity to apply her techniques directly onto your work. Students will shoot singularly and will be supervised and given custom advice to.

What you need:

  • Your own Camera and preference of Lenses
  • Own Workstation/Laptop with Photoshop CS5+ installed (optional)
  • Basic knowledge of manual photography, Photoshop adjustment layers and masking

Laura Cammarata is an Italian fashion photographer currently based in London, UK. She discovered photography at the age of 16 and hasn’t looked back ever since. At 20 she won a contest held by Vogue Italia and shoot an editorial for Vogue.it.

She moved to London at 21 to pursue her career as a fashion photographer. She has had her work published internationally and travels worldwide to shoot editorials for magazines.

Does the cost of the Workshop includes flights and/or accommodation?

No, you will have to do your travel arrangements and purchase your accommodation separately.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

Refund Policy:

1. There is a 14-day cooling off period following the purchase of the ticket where you will receive a full refund minus a 5% administration fee.

2. 14-day after the purchase of the workshop you are entitled a 50% refund.

3. Cancelations made 14 days prior to the event’s date are non refundable.

4. You can transfer your ticket to third parties at any time by informing us in writing at tickets@traintocreate.com

5. No refund will be made for non-attendance of the event

Cancellation Policy:

Train to Create reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or change the location and the time of an event due to unforeseen circumstances. If Train to Create cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund.
